Josh comes to us from Grand Junction, CO, where he was sports director for roughly a year-and-a-half at KJCT-TV. The big things in Grand Junction are Mesa State athletics and the annual Junior College World Series (48 years and going strong!).
Prior to G.J., Josh worked for a-year-and-a-half as weekend sports anchor/sports reporter at KNVN/KHSL-TV in Chico, CA. That northern California locale allowed Josh to cover the Raiders run to the Super Bowl in 2003, the ’04 Olympic Track and Field Trials, and last but certainly not least (Josh is a hoops fanatic), the ’02 Western Conference Finals between the Kings and Lakers.
One could say Josh, who got a masters degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University in 2001, spent the better part of his upbringing in Houston, TX, watching and playing sports. Well, that’s actually all he did. But he was much better watching than playing.
With a career in pro sports out of the question, the next best thing of course was a career as a broadcast journalist. Like just about every other person making their living in sports, Josh feels very fortunate doing what he does.
Although living in Central Iowa automatically makes Josh a huge fan of all Iowa State and Drake teams the two big colleges in central Iowa Josh admits he’ll always remain a die-hard Texas Longhorns fan…except when they’re playing the Cyclones.
